Ok, just received an alert about a WLM2009 update, and before installing, wanted to know...
is it compatible with Plus! 4.80?

Hmm everything appears to be fine, skins aren't broken or anything but I am going to check UI files just in case. Plus features work fine.

I wish the team would provide a bug-fix for these sort of things, because i don't notice anything changed, so they need to be a bit more specific with the behind-the-scenes changes. But it seems to span across all Windows Live programs the update.

Yes, about everything in Plus! 4.80 is compatible with WLM2009.

this is a NEW version of WLM 2009, which is why the thread was posted, it is fesable that things could have changed and prevented Messenger Plus! Live from working

Yeah, but updating is half-like installing. They put in new stuff in MSN.. which takes space. Just go with it.

Windows Live Messenger 2009 was released a while ago, we already know what's new in that. But the new build (14.0.8064.0206) discussed in this thread isn't even 24 hours old yet. It contains bugfixes compared with the 14.0.8050.1202 build. People are just wondering what fixes exactly.

The latest version of Messenger 2009 has broken everything Messenger Plus-wise for me.
I now have no access to Messenger Plus from the GUI or the menu bar. The buttons and menu entry for Plus have just disapperared!
An uninstall/reinstall of everything didn't fix it so unless I can find a way to download the previous version of Messenger Live! I'm stuck with no Messenger Plus or scripts

Thanks for the link Moh. I just found an MSI of the previous version of Messenger 2009 and Plus works again.
Now I'll upgrade and try the Plus version you pointed me to.

This update release merely fix the compatibility issues with Windows 7, and some minor bug fixes. Nothing much.
It's optional, unless you're beta-testing Windows 7, and would like to use Windows Live Messenger 2009 properly.
Whether build 14.0.8064.0206 or 1202, it still works with WLMP! 4.80.

Apparently the main fix that occured was one with the Windows Live Messenger staying on the taskbar of Windows 7 even when you have closed the whole program, i had seen the bug a couple of times, but otherwise nothing else.

Hey everyone, I use regular Windows Live Messenger I dont have any add ons or anything for it such as Messenger Plus! or anything like that.
Would I be okay updating my version of messenger? I seen a thread about Windows Live Messenger 9 sign in not working or something like that.

All this version's done is give me problems -.- I got it a while ago when I first heard about it, and my now playing stopped working, so I reverted to previous build. Now they've given me a 'update or you can't log in' message, and apparently I'm offline to everyone, when my status is online >.< /Disgruntled
