Backing-up MSN Messenger by mansourag on 02-17-2009 at 06:44 PM

Hi all :D

I tried doing searches in the scripts section, google, mess.be...you name it.

What I'm looking for is a programme that will backup my custom emotions (with their codes for when I type them) as well as my sound library, and then restore them after say a messenger upgrade, or on another machine.

Although I found what I was looking for they we're mostly for older versions of MSN (i.e. 7.5) and are therefore not relevant.

Can anyone please reccomend a good one that will do the above and is spyware free? (as I've read that some have spyware bundled with them :S)

Thanks guys & thank you Patchou for:plus4:

I don't know about custom sounds but you can backup and restore icons, including codes, using EmoticonMadeEasy from EmoticonMadeEasy

Try searching the forums, this is a very common topic and has been discussed many times before, there are tools to do this for you.

It might be worth searching for posts by CookieRevised, he's usually one of the most knowledgeable on that kind of thing.

You can export all of your sounds in your library to a soundpack via the Messenger Plus! sound library and then re-import them.

Custom emoticons can be done via a number of programs, search the forums.

Also, custom emoticons, etc should not get lost after a messenger upgrade (except possibly a very large upgrade, which won't be happening anytime soon as 2009 has only just come out)
