Safari 4 by blessedguy on 02-24-2009 at 11:29 PM

=D
Just installed Safari 4, yeah, it looks uglier than before, but it's nice.
Lol... everything was layed out as Chrome =P
No more mac-like buttons in Windows =´(
100/100 in Acid-Test o.O
And geez, it's FAST o.O
JAVA is finally working fine with it, and colors still look gorgeous with it!
And looks like it will feature user-created plug-ins.
And now we are able to browse history and bookmarks with coverflow, an also have a gorgeous looking TopSites page. (same as Chrome's new tab and Opera's SpeedDial).
Tabs are on top, as Chrome, and the Adress bar is spotlight with a different name... too bad it still doesn't have integrated web search...
And some other nice features...

Too bad it is worse than before isn't really that elegant in Windows anymore =/
Anyone already downloaded it? (http://www.apple.com/safari/download/)

good thing it looks the exact same as safari3 on windows, which didn't look "elegant" to begin with

Good thing we don't need Apple for good browsers on Windows :o.

For those of you too lazy to install it, http://dotlou.com/stuff/apple%20top.png

I hate it.

Tabs on the titlebar is really fail. But apparently there already is a workaround for that.

I would agree....if chrome had the same plug-in and theme database and capabilities as firefox. Firefox ftw.

I *think* if people don't like the new (and ugly) look on the Windows Beta, Apple will let choose the 'skin' they want for Safari.

It's because Chrome is the Big One newbie on Browsers. And because WebKit is updated by Apple to renderize 100/100, WebKit will be updated for Chrome and will get 100/100 results too. Wonderful! :D

Actually, in Acid3, there is a much bigger focus on JavaScript than there is on just rendering, thus, upgrading WebKit isn't enough as they'll also have to do their own work when it comes to their JavaScript engine.

Good point, I thought that WebKit was the only responsible for that 100/100 result.

Download link for chrome 2?

Or is the only way by using that channel changer thing?
RE: Safari 4 by Mike on 02-28-2009 at 12:10 AM

Tried it.
Scrolling is way too slower compared to Firefox, so I'm back to Firefox (I didn't even use it for 5 minutes :P)

RE: Safari 4 by blessedguy on 02-28-2009 at 01:12 AM

There is an exe installer that installs it over v1... trying to find it

Update: here it is: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Browsers/Google-Chrome.shtml
