so for example if i have a kettle in the background on the left it will look like on the webcam that the kettle is on the right

its so annoying

ive looked in webcam options to find a mirror reflect option
but there done seem to be one in this MSN! :(

This only annoys you, it doesn't show the other contacts mirror images.
To solve this, go to Tools>Audio and Video Setup..
Configure your Audio, then click Next. Then at the bottom of the little window, you will see Webcam Settings.

Note: this is not confirmed.

like i said

i am using the New Windows Live messenger and there is a webcam option but there is no option to change the mirror image

In the older versions off Messenger there was this option but there is no option on this version off messenger.

Tools>Audio/Video Setup>Next>Webcam Settings>Advanced

On there you'll find options for both horizontal and vertical mirroring.

The reason that you see your webcam reflected is because that's how we're used to seeing ourselves, in mirrors, etc

as you can see in the attachment there is a option called camera control but it dont seem to work or let me  change anything and as in the tab Video Proc Amp
there is no Advance Button.
i can 100% assure you

What kind of webcam are you using?

It's possible that it doesn't support any options for reversing the mirrored effect, etc

You do realise that it's only you who sees the mirroring?

It's just to make movement easier for you....the contact sees the footage the correct way

I think this has bring brought up before. I have the same thing as you, hyperkid45. Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to turn the mirror off. :(

Like djdannyp said and MenthiX said:

I agree though, it's rather annoying.

Hello hyperkid45 ....

You can do that by downloading a software "ManyCam" and which is free ... This will install a "ManyCam Virtual Webcam" and this one You can chose in Your Messenger ... When You open "Video sources" in ManyCam there you can flip Your image both Horisontal and Vertical and even rotate it 90 deg. around ...

Best Regards ...

Gale, that's true, but rather than you seeing yourself flipped, your contact will.

So I guess it's the best you'll get if you really want to see yourself "not mirrored" and don't mind your contact seeing you mirrored. :P
