Messenger showing spaces updates in chat windows by basaltox on 04-18-2009 at 04:39 PM

In messenger I've noticed that it now shows updates in the chat window from your live spaces like photos being uploaded, commenting on blogs etc. I don't want everyone in my contact list to be able to see this and seems a really bad idea in general.

How do I stop this feature I have looked in messenger but cannot see anything and on live spaces itself doesn't seem to have a control for this either ?

Anyone any ideas ??

Thanks.

Edit: I think this is part of the "whats new in your network" feature I went into the spaces setting and turned off everything but the whats new keeps showing up in live messenger.

go to home.live.com, find "What's new Updates" in the settings, and turn them off...
To turn them off in messenger click "Layout (next to add contact/group) > Untick "Show what's new"

Thanks for the reply blessedguy but that doesn't seem to stop it, I did exactly that but contacts can still see "whats new" when bringing up the chat window with me.

It's very weird & that Microsoft would make this feature on by default is surprising I may just make another account for use with messenger that doesn't track my every move.

It is not so surprising when you discover some interesting aspects of Windows Update.... =)
