I use Vista Home Premium have a integrated web cam and microphone on my laptop.  I signed up to use the call feature, run by Telefonica & Windows, and paid $10 to try it out.  There was no problem getting it setup but when I made some phone calls the people could hear me but I could not hear them. 

I also use SKYPE so I called the same numbers and there were no problems.

Is there somplace in messenger that controls the audio features.

Aside from the "Audio and Video Setup" in the Tools menu i don't think there is anything else inside the software that you can control the audio with, apart from the little volume bar in the conversation window. I would personally just stick to Skype for Audio/Video calling, much better quality service.
