Extending the file size limit of message history possible? by david13579 on 06-28-2009 at 01:47 AM

I wonder if it is possible to make a script to extend the file size of the files that record messages so instead of having WLM asking likes every 6 months or so for deleting/archiving messages, have it do it each year or something.

It asks to delete/archive messages once it reaches around 2.5 MB, can a script make it go like up to 5 or something?

Why not just use Plus!'s inbuilt chat logger? I'm pretty sure there's no size limit with that.

Besides, scripts can't do everything, and this would probably be one of them.

Doesn't Plus automatically start logging or do you have to tell it to?

Anyways, I don't like Plus's built in logger because of how complicated it to access the log ( I prefer  the simple methods WLM uses by default) and for how it archives the logs ( I don't like the monthly think, I prefer a single file per person { because of this, Plus technically has a limit too, not of size but of time).

I think it logs automatically, but I'm not sure.

I had no idea HTML/text files were that hard to open...

As for the archiving, I guess the most you can do is set it to "one folder per contact" which will still arrange the logs by month but they will all be in their respective contact's folder.
