Lock messenger and Windows 7 by Chancer on 07-03-2009 at 03:26 PM

I'm using Ctrl+Space to lock and Ctrl+Shift+Space to unlock. But after unlocking, the icon (pinned in the taskbar) doesn't show the status indicator anymore. I have to change my status in order to make it appear.
Anyone else experienced this?

I'm not sure I understand the problem exactly, can you give more details? (a screenshot maybe?).

In the picture: Before locking, while locked, after unlocked.
There's no status indicator.

Upgrade to 4.82, that version is the only one fully compatible with Windows 7

as a completely unrelated note, you should really get in the habit of using "lock workstation" instead, especially now that it's been improved on vista/win7 to work in any configuration. it's much more secure. (start > shutdown menu > lock, or windowskey+L)

What if you are supossed to be working or doing anything else and not chatting? :P Lock workstation isn't useful there.

er, then messenger lock is useless anyway, since you could just unlock it? :p

Afaik, messenger lock is there so that you can hide messenger immediatly if you don't want anyone to notice you are chatting, for example your boss at work, or your teacher at school

I noticed that the same problem happens when explorer crashes.
Maybe this is not a Plus! bug...

The feature was named 'Boss Protection' at some point in time :p
