gmail filters and lables by Jarrod on 07-16-2009 at 10:23 AM

so I have a filter that labels the message then another filter that labels it something else, I want one label to remove all other labels.
any ideas?

- Get the mail
- Delete it and forward it to yourself
- search for mail sent from yourself
- apply the label

Thats the only way I can think of doing it. Although I'm sure there must be a more elegant way of doing it, I only just discovered gmail filters and labels yesterday when creating a master account linking all of my email accounts...

thats what I'm doing:P
dw found a way to do it, I just didn't label the email in the first place, by fixing my filter's argument, my problem was I was missing some brackets from my query it looks like this now
code:
-(*@facebookmail.com)

it won't work without the brackets

ah cool... I didn't realise you needed the brackets for an argument selecting emails, I've only used the arguments to select between subjects as of yet (eg, my "facebook other" filter is: from: @facebook, subject: -message -comment)
