Right click on the taskbar for that window and click move. Then, use the arrows on your keyboard to move the window :)

What do you mean you can't do that? What exact step doesn't work?

1) Right click on the taskbar button
A menu will now popup
2) Choose 'Move'
The menu will dissapear
3) With your arrow keys you are now able to move the window. Only use the arrow keys without pressing on any other key.
(Normally you could also move the window by moving the mouse at this point)
4) Press <Enter> when the window is positioned.

Do you have any addons installed?
Do you have some screen tools installed?

If so, uninstall them, reboot, and see if the problem is still there.

Another thing you can try:
  1. Close every conversation window in Messenger

  2. Open the registry editor
    (Start > Run > regedit.exe)

  3. In the registry editor, navigate to the folowing key and delete it:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings\<windows live id number>\IMWindowRect

Where the Windows Live ID number is the number of the account you have troubles with.
You can find/calculate this number here: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/msngrid.aspx
On that page you can enter your Windows Live ID in the textbox (the email you sign in with in Messenger) and the number will be calculated on the fly.

  4. Close the registry editor

  5. Open a new conversation window.
Can you now see the window displayed properly?

Well with the task bar, something is wrong with that and I already know that. My Task manager wont pop up so I can never end a program that isn't responding. But I can still right click windows on the task bar and with MSN Messenger sometime it pops up and sometimes it doesn't and when it does MOVE and the one below it are unselectable.

Then I tried the one you said with the registry and I still can't see it properly. Its still off to the left, out of reach :(

I recently went through all of my add ons because my internet explorer keeps saying I have the add ons turned off and I don't. But I don't know what screen tools are.

Thanks for helping me, and if you cant figure it out... its all good. My computer is a mess! I just need a new one! :D

With addons I meant programs which add stuff to Messenger (nothing todo with Internet Explorer addons), like SmileyCentral, etc...

Screen tools are programs which add extra stuff for you screen, and which take over some degree of control, like UltraMon, etc...

At the moment it indeed sounds like you have a lot of stuff running in the background which you realy don't need and which break many things. A reinstall of Windows, together with never installing stuff which you don't realy need, might solve everything.

I know... I just don't have $100 to buy a disk. I have a Dell that we bought from a pawn shop (bad mistake) its totally screwed. So the computer as in Microsoft XP isn't in my name its in some other guys name so I have to pay for a disk.

I'll check out the screen tools and add ons to see if that works and if you come up with anymore ideas, just post or you can email me. its the same as my name just at msn. Thanks
