Call it what you want, it IS spyware by i-agree on 07-22-2009 at 08:08 PM

I registered just to post in the other thread but it was locked. Well guess what, the guy is right. Two minutes ago I got a popup about some contest where i could win. It wasn't exactly easy to see it was part of msg plus, but eventually i saw the logo. Oh well, i guess i'll just disable it in the settings right? Nope, not possible.

Revo uninstaller -> select msg plus and remove.

This is just too retarded. Now i fell obliged to tell my friends who i actually recommended msg plus to, that it is the culprit and the reason they are getting spyware popups. Bravo..

What you saw was not a popup, it was a notification window like any other notification in Messenger, and it's for a contest organised this summer for all Plus! users to let them win prizes. We do that every year as a way to thank our users and do some promotion in the meantime. It has nothing to do with the sponsor or anything else, it's just a game of luck and you're free to participate or not, it won't ask any information from you unless you win anything.

Err...doesn't that appear just once, immediately after the first sign in after updating?
