ok so I have a couple of greatest hits albums, and I have some of the albums that make up these albums so atm I'm getting duplicate files, can Itunes link the songs to their original albums so they still appear as apart of the album but don't exist twice on the disk?

The same song from different albums usually won't match exactly.
