Changing to idle isn't related to firewall or anti-virus as far as I'm aware.

Make sure the option 'Show me as Away when I'm inactive..." is enabled in Tools > Options.

You can set up a screensaver on your computer or tell your monitor to turn off after a certain amount of time, which should then set your status to idle.

Believe it or not, the wireless mouse without microsoft's Intelli Software was causing this. LOL

The mouse itself or the software? Some surfaces might cause your mousecursor to jump around by a pixel when you're actually not touching it. If that's the case a good mousepad or cleaning the mouse will probably solve the problem.

No I noticed it when I unplugged it for the night and stayed a bit idle. I plugged it again and still it wouldnt idle... The cyrcor werent moviing not even a pixel. Then I ve put the I.Point software and the problem solved.

Weird???

Never happened on my Xp, only on my Vista.
