Taking it with me by mypengyou on 11-15-2009 at 03:14 AM

I know that the addressbook for msn is saved and is accessible from any computer but I would like my conversation files to be saved also and accessible from home and work.  I use msn at home and in the office and would like to be adding to the same conversation files.  Is it possible to do this?  I don't mind uploading and downloading a file if that is what it takes to make it work.

umm basically you'll have to take the log files with you.. so the easiest thing to do would be, in the options, set the directory for the log files to be saved to be to a USB memory stick thingy. for both home and work comp. and then you just have to put in the USB key before starting messenger in each computer. otherwise you'll have to set it to a folder and have to keep replacing the log files with the new convos so that theyre both 'the same conversation' files.

If you leave yourself signed in at home (with chatlogging enabled) and use the multiple point of presence feature to sign in simultaneously at work, then any conversations you have at work will be mirrored on your home pc and will get logged as normal.

This is what I do so that I have one single log file that can be updated from both locations
