one of the first things I do on a fresh Windows install is to get all those little apps that usually run in the background and don't require much configuration..

so here's a thread for you to share and comment on some of those lesser known apps, I'll start :zippy:

Hashtab -- "Hashtab... is the coolest thing ever" - it really is. Smoothest integration of file hashing I've ever seen in the Windows world (and cookie contributed to it, omfg :o )

Taekwindow -- Those of you familiar with Linux will know that you can drag windows simply by alt+leftclicking on them and resize them with alt+rightclick. This tool brings this awesome functionality to Windows.

PowerMenu -- I've been using this tool for ages. Adds "Always on top", "Minimize to tray" and transparency settings to the window context menu.

TaskbarShuffle is a great app for anyone on pre-Win7.  It enables you to drag and drop icons on the taskbar and system tray and re-order them which I found very useful as I always like to have my programs open in a specific order

On XP, I used PowerMenu and TaskbarShuffle. (Y)

I may consider using PowerMenu again, using this workaround for Windows 7.

Just testing Taekwindow. Looks good, thanks.

So it gives you a "Hide the porn" button? :P

TinyGrab, easier way to share screenshots. Just Ctrl+Shift+3 for fullscreen, 4 for selected area, and 5 for active window, upload is automatic and it can automatically copy and/or shorten URL.

Fairly common, but whatever... Ultramon
Window Clippings for screenshots (Sorry Matty)
Synergy, a software KVM, but except no video.
