Apparently if you have both Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader, it won't work in Chrome. Instead, remove Reader and then try.

Can also try...

quote:
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Browser
2. Copy the file "nppdf32.dll"
3. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins
4. Paste the nppdf32.dll file
5. Restart Chrome.

I refuse to install Adobe Reader (26.1MB) and instead just download individual PDFs and view in Sumatra PDF Viewer (1.2MB).

Indeed. Adobe/Acrobat reader is pure evil to me. It has gone through so many exploits (often unpatched for a long time). The browser integration is asking for trouble and doesn't add any real benefit.

Go with a decent PDF reader which is:
A) More secure
B) Lightweight
C) Doesn't mess with your browser
D) Views PDF file sjust as well as Adobe's viewer, never ad and compatibility issues with an alternative reader.

Using Foxit Reader myself.

I personally use this: Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer extension and just download on the rare occasion it doesn't display stuff properly.
