windows live messenger shuts down when opening a new conversation by huminator on 04-19-2010 at 04:55 AM

Hoping that someone will be able to help me out, as my windows live messenger keeps shutting down whenever I try to open a new conversation window with a specific friend.

I've tried scanning my computer with virus scanners/cleaners (BitDefender, CCleaner, Malwarebytes), and I have also tried re-installing Windows Live Messenger.

Any suggestions would be awesome!

Also, as a side note, if I leave wlm idle and return to it a few minutes later, it shows that it "stops responding" for about 30 seconds, and then returns back to normal operation.  Not sure if this item is related at all.

Thanks!

Do you have any Messenger Plus! Live scripts or skins installed?

That isn't a reason not to use any scripts. If this happens it means that the script is imporperly written.

No, I don't think I have any scripts or skins installed (how do I tell?)...

Type (!VER) and send it in a conversation and it will show if you have any skins

Type (!SVER) and send it in a conversation and it will show what scripts you have.

Copy and paste the results of both of these onto here
