Microsoft is “Getting ready for Windows Live Wave 4”

Microsoft has announced today that they are prepping for the Wave 4 rollout. In a blog post on the official Windows Blog, they stated that internal testing of Live Wave 4 has been going on for some time and that they will soon begin to roll out the beta to others outside of the company for additional feedback.

They state that they will release the beta to the public once they have a stable build to work with that meets all of their internal requirements.  “We will then roll out updates to our web services, followed by betas of our software for Windows PCs, Macs, and phones. Our approach is to release betas to the public once we think the build is in pretty good shape, learn through beta usage data and beta user feedback, and make additional refinements that eventually become the final release. Of course, we’ll continue to update the service as we see how you use it every day and hear from you about what’s working and what needs improvement.”

On the blog they go into further detail and focus in on Hotmail, Windows Live Essentials, and Windows Live Messenger, but no specific details are given about the actual updates.  But, Neowin has been covering the leaks that have been surfacing which you can read about here, that do shine a little bit of light on what we can expect.

As we get closer to the launch and more users are given access to the beta, expect more information to surface.  Once the beta leaves the locked walls of Microsoft, what to expect from Wave 4 will be much clearer.

I believe a version of Plus! was not avaliable when a final version of Messenger was released. Dont remember but Im pretty sure alot of people were without Plus! (or downgraded/refused to upgrade) until Plus! was compatible.

It will be ready for it when Yuna has access to the final Messenger version, which doesn't actually exist yet.

Yuna does work with Microsoft (right? We know Patchou/MS had a fall out but are now on good terms) so Yuna might be in the private beta process currently going on.

Plus! has always been made compatible for every final public version, although it might have taken a few days after the release...

Things will go as usual with Messenger 2010. When a public beta is out, I'll start doing some prep work in Messenger Plus!. Depending on how thigns go, we may release a version that's partially or entirely compatible with the public beta. The goal though is the final release, support for betas is not a priority.
