WLM crashes when trying to log in on one specific account by Rolando on 06-11-2010 at 07:36 AM

My friend's laptop crashes whenever she tries to log in in one of her e-mails (the one she uses the most), but she can access any other perfectly fine, and access said e-mail on any other computer. I've no idea what could be causing this? She already tried uninstalling and installing WLM.

Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0.6000)
Windows Live Messenger 14.0.0726
Messenger Plus! Live 4.83.0.372

It may or may not help......but try Vista SP2 (that should be done anyway!) as well as any other outstanding updates.

Updating WLM & Plus! couldn't hurt either

It's worth deleting cache which may be corrupted...

quote:
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows Live Call\
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows Messenger\
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\MessengerCache\
C:\Users\your_username\Contacts\

Note: I suggest backing up before deleting (e.g. 3rd from bottom will delete custom smiley's, display pics, winks, scenes, etc.).

Thanks that did the trick.
