2 suggestions: Open Messenger again at the end of setup and dont touch msnmsgr.exe by riahc4 on 08-26-2010 at 03:08 AM

Hey

2 small suggestions:
1: At the end of Messenger Plus! Live's setup, why isnt there a option that says "Open Windows Live Messenger"?
2: Why is msnmsgr.exe "touched"? Im running msnmsgr.exe in Vista SP2 compatibility mode and each time I update Plus! it gets restarted. Just a small annoyence and WHY does Plus! do this?

Thank you :)

Please Search the forum before posting as I answered both of these questions yesterday in the following thread:

Two windows showing up on taskbar?

1. The reason it doesn't restart WLM after an update is because the Messenger Plus! Live install runs with elevated (administrator) priviliges....and if it automatically started WLM then that too would be run as administrator and that shouldn't happen.

Messenger tends to slow down when improper compatibility settings are set for msnmsgr.exe. The setup of Messenger Plus! now resets the compatibility settings set for Messenger in Windows Vista and above.

There may also be other issues with compatibility mode, but to explain it simply, the program is returned to its default state as that is how it should be run and how it best enables the Messenger Plus! Live dll to hook into it, avoiding any potential errors
