help! netstat problem by candycake on 09-12-2010 at 03:17 PM

hello !!

my problem started when i downloaded a torrent movie that Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware just popped up saying that a potentially dangerous website have been blocked, like more than 20 times constantly, so i disconnected from the internet and erased the movie and the torrent and restarted. Well from that moment my computer became slow, without opening browsers i checked my netstat and got an established connection :l, so i formatted my laptop, everything is good, but when i checked the netstat, the established connection is still there ? please I need someone to make this clear for me,, cuz before i installed the torrent program,, i didn't see any established connection.

What's the IP Address it's connected/connecting to?

Why would you format your computer instead of doing a system restore?

RE: help! netstat problem by candycake on 09-12-2010 at 04:13 PM

65.54.87.78:80

Do you know what your IP address is? Do you have any other computers in the house? Are you connected through a router?

RE: help! netstat problem by candycake on 09-12-2010 at 04:50 PM

^^
yeah i know my ip address,, nope no computers nor a router
just my laptop and my own connection

RE: help! netstat problem by matty on 09-12-2010 at 04:52 PM

I wouldn't worry about it... it is a connection over HTTP it isn't a big deal.

^^
i got worried cuz i heard that if there is an established connection without opening anything else,, you maybe got hacked or something

thanks :)

Since it's http it's quite limited really on what can happen. Try running in safemode and see if the connection is still there.

It shouldn't be.. then open programs one by one and see if it comes back :)

Safe mode doesn't, by default, allow networking. You would need to do Safe Mode with Networking.
