Hi,

I am using the latest version of WLM and I recently closed my old account due to getting too much spam. I have tried the various ways of transferring all my contacts by using TrueSwitch but it doesn't support .co.uk extensions. I've tried importing the contacts by using the import facility via the address book but after exporting and then importing I can only see a few of my contacts.

So, I decided to add them all manually but I can only see them online when I have asked them to add me.

Strange? Some get the accept invite, accept it and I see them but 75% of them won't see me unless they add me manually?

Is there a way around this or can anyone tell me why most of them do not get my invites

I don't know what to add; I reported a similar issue  here and they asked for more information.

btw, I tried the following and it usually worked.

1) both of you delete each other from your live profiles; if the contact is still on the WLM contact list, delete it from there, too.
2) go to http://profile.live.com/connect/ and add your friend from there; log out/in; it should be added to your contact list as well; if it's not, add it on WLM too
3) wait for your friend to accept your invite on http://profile.live.com/invites ; if the invite is not there, send him a link to your live profile, he should see a "wants to be friend" link under your name: by clicking it you should finally be connected
4) both of you log out and back in

if you already added your friends and added them on your live profile already, you should just ask your friends to accept the invitation on their profile. Once you log out/in you should see each other again.

this is what mostly worked for me; I say mostly, because, while in some cases it reliably worked, a friend of mine didn't ever receive the invitation on his live profile...
