On some backgrounds it is impossible to read the default color...

I do not really understand how the skinning works, so sorry if i talk sillynesses...

There are ways to change both text color and font, I'll try to add it. As for custom backgrounds, you'd have to add it yourself (replace one of the files in Program Files/Messenger Plus! Live/Skins/Agaeti/Backgrounds, keeping the same name and extension, then select this in the options panel) or I'd have to make a script, will think about that.

Hi using the Agaeti Skin, but i cant seem to put my plus speaker for sounds back in the chat box again. The ones that send Hello and etc..I'ts either the Agaeti send button, or the plus toolbar disappears.

Works fine here. With or without send button. Could you post a screenshot of your full Agaeti settings? Might be a combination of other things.

Doesn't even seem to even an option to remove to remove Plus! sounds button. You may want to try un-checking some of the boxes you have checked, see which of them fixes the problem. I would start by un-checking the "Conversation Window - Remove" options.
Then un-checking the "Add" options below those.

but there are 2 bugs:
  *when you remove he ad-banner with "A-pach" (http://apatch.org/downloads/) a white space appear on botton
  *and the Default skin of msn 2011 isn't the same as msn 2009 (it isn't a big problem, I can edit it by myself xD)

If you can, add an option to hide unwanted categories like "offline contacts" (sorry I don't know it name in English)

and Facebook too

If I recall correctly, skins can't really mess with the categories, which would include FB and offline contacts.

You already can do that Just disable "Plus! button" and "Scripts button" under Basic Settings > Conversation Window > Add.

Hm, strange. Are you using Windows in English? I use Windows in pt-br, and the skin will always show up in Portuguese if pt-br is present in the skininfo. Now, if I remove it, it shows me the first listed language [English]. I'll talk to other people to see if it happens with other languages as well, sorry for that problem.

My windows is in Spanish (Argentina).
May be you should add an option to select your own languaje.

So are you using your skin in portuguese? did you try it in Spanish?
Perhaps this is the problem, one time I had traslated a firefox skin, and I had a problem with the letter "ñ", becouse that skin wasn't prepared to read it.

hey, i just downloaded the theme, and i really like it

but theres 1 thing that really bugs me.

its just that i wanna change my contact list BG and i hav to go through each image to see how it looks.

can u make some sort of table that has all the images in it so i can see them and choose 1 withour having to restart messenger?

I'm getting rid of all backgrounds together and making a script that lets you select from your files which one you'll want

As for restartless skins, Plus! will have that soon, will be called Dynamic Skinning.

For now, you can go to Program Files/Yuna Software/Messenger Plus!/WLM-Skins/Agaeti/Backgrounds and check wich one you want, the filenames are the same as in the control panel

Sry but i dont wanna change the scene like that. Idk if you have seen the skin assasin creed, the background of the contact list and the conversation window is on the whole window there is no division between the pic you choose and the theme/scene.

Oh, so you wasnt to change the whole background, I guess Just navigate to the skin folder again, and you'll find a folder called "Backgrounds", just repace one of those, and make sure to keep the name and extension of the file you replace. Then, just activate it in the options panel.

[For example, move drop.jpg to /Backgrounds, remove Aqua.jpg, and rename drop.jpg to Aqua.jpg, and then enable "Aqua" background in the panel]

As you have seen in the image i have 2 separated thing the background changeable by your script and the theme that WLM has i wanna have it like the same thing like is shown is the bottom part of the picture where all is background and there is no theme. Is that possible with your script if not could you consider adding that option in a later version please?

In any case, it is possible. Just select "Remove scene" in the Contact List section of the Options Panel.

Where is that? I dont see that option available on WLM 2011.

It's under basic settings > contact list > remove > scene and basic settings > conversation window > remove > scene; in the options panel [the two cogs button in the contact list]

Sooo, I'm curious. How come the default background option isnt the actual default background?
At least for WLM 2011. Both the top and bottom are blue while without the skin the bottom is more like a really light grey.

I mostly use this to "clean up" the interface (removing stuff I never use) so I'd really like to have the actual default background if possible.

I actually tried that a while ago but... couldnt find it. I went thru WLM's resources but it was no where to be found.

This is mostly why I posted; usually I try to fix things on my own before posting on forums but I'm stumped here.


/Late edit: No hurry, btw. Was mostly curious, the "Contact List Default" background makes for a fine replacement for now.

For some odd reason, this skin has a wonderful glitch. It shows no ads on the contact list, I figure it must be a glitch, there's no option for it, it simply shows nothing by the ad space for the contact list.
I'm wondering why if this glitch can be brought to light on how it is occurring so other skins may replicate such a fantastic problem.

Get what I'm sayin'?

This glitch is manually written by skin creators, so you'll have to ask them to implement it.

Do note though there might be a .reg file in the skin's folder that can remedy this issue.

Hi, im using agaeti 1.10 in the windows live messenger 2011 (the last version) with Messenger Plus 5-0 (the problem i will describe also happens in the 5.02 version too) in a windows 7 ultimate with the Spanish languaje (im from Argentina so my computer is configured to the argentinian spanish) and i cant transalte agaeti 1.10 to the spanish version. I tried installing the spanish only version and i cant because when i double click the skin it says that the skin doesnt seem to be from Messenger Plus (this sign apears as a window error and after that the windows closes and nothing else happen).
¿Can someone help me getting the agaeti 1.10 to the spanish?

If you want to stop the adverts follow these steps, I've used this method for about a year now, and the advert box had completely dissapeared.

    Click Start button on Windows
    Go to Control Panel –> Internet Options
    Click on the security tab and click on "Restricted sites" then ’Sites’ underneath.
    Add the url “rad.msn.com” and those ads will never be shown again.

rad.msn.com is msn's ad server. Blocking access to this site will block all ads from the msn websites and most of the other sites that they own.

Please note this doesn't remove ads completely. You'll see a white blank space instead*. Sometimes it is a video, but you can block that using the same method.


*I just updated from Agaeti 1.01 to 1.1, in 1.01 the advertisement was actually hidden, now that I'm using 1.1 I get a blank white box.

Reverted back to 1.01, no blank box, adverts completely gone, so if anyone using Agaeti wants those adverts completely removed, the above works for me, try it yourself.

Installing WLM 2011 has somehow failed. I don't think it matters, though. I settled for My Live Messenger ^^

Though I can't really find a certain wallpaper that I always used to use before. It's a lot like the Blues wallpaper, but a more vivid skyblue and it probably doesn't have the darker patch in the top right.

There is a bug, I think.
Agaeti seems to be forcing a font on every text on WLM. Not only the font of the text of the buddylist, but also the stuff you type and send. Only people without Agaeti can see the true font, then.

Is there any way I can change this and see my own font?

I believe the font replacement only replaces those who are using the default font (Segoe UI). If you/your contact is not using Segoe UI, then it should appear as-is. Even if you are using Segoe UI and the skin replaces the font, your contact will see Segoe UI.

However, Messenger Plus! does have a feature that replaces your contacts' fonts into your pre-selected style, but that is a separate issue.

As you may have noticed, Agaeti hasn't been updated for quite a while. In the meantime, Plus! got some nice updates and so did Windows Live Messenger, and the combination of both introduced some new minor problems. I'm working to fix them

While an update is not ready, you can try this: http://software.blessedguy.com/agaeti/helper/current

It's a simple program that lets you choose any JPEG or PNG image and make it your conversation window or contact list background. Remember to restart Messenger after clicking apply!

It's a new application and it is not signed or anything, your browser might thing it's a malicious program. Fear not, it's safe.
