Link Script Request by Vas on 12-02-2010 at 10:31 AM

Recently microsoft has disabled all links in MSN.  I'd like a script to re-enable them.  I just want them clickable again.  Obviously it's possible if you can use BBC code to colorize stuff in the output window (chat area) and contacts that don't have Messenger Plus can use the same BBC code to show up properly on incoming.    I figure it could be as easy as detecting the link and making it work right?  I'd really like this made because disabling links was the biggest mistake Microsoft has done that's made me question weither I should move on to trillian or not.

TReKiE released Messenger Link Reviver which will restore the ability to click on links in Windows Live Messenger 2009.

It will modify Messenger, probably using the same kind of method footose already described. But Link Reviver makes is easy for everyone with just a few clicks.

Just so you know this type of thing generally cant be done with a script. We cannot alter the text in the chat history without negative ramifications. Unless we could find the memory location and patch it to allow links that is about all that could be done. If that were to exist. Which I guess from TReKie's release it is.

That's not done by scripts.  Messenger Plus! can access and modify stuff in conversations, but script's can't.

No Plus! cannot... well it can and so can scripts however WLM has an internal counter and adding/removing anything from the chat history will cause adverse effects.
