Live chat and listening same music for both chathers?? by crosuperman on 01-13-2011 at 04:27 PM

I have Windows Live Messenger ver. 2009. I interesting is it possible to have in live chat (with microphone and headphones) that my chat partner can hear music I play on my PC?
Let me clear explain: I have live talk with my partner (we both have microphones and headphones). While we talk I play some music on my PC, can he hear that music on his headphones?

I remember when I had old MSN messenger (I don't remeber which version was) I had that possibility. I think (but I'm not so sure) that I played some music on Nero Express and my chat partner could hear that music.

If somebody know is it possible on WLM, I'll be so thankful to describe me in details.

This has got little todo with WLM itself, but all with how you setup your sound stream.

If you configure your sound settings in Windows in such a way that you broadcast both the mic input and the sound being played on the PC (in essence everything you hear), and in WLM you select the proper broadcasting device, then this might be very possible.

For XP, it involves changing the sound recording device and the selected input devices.

But as said it mostly involves configuring your sound settings and input devices in the Windows sound control panel itself. Also, mind you that not all sound cards support such setups.

CookieRevised thanks for help, but I'm not so big expert to set my sound settings properly. Can you tell me or describe me what I exactly to do and where?
Thanks forward
