installing 2 messengers in windows 7 - Printable Version

i want to keep the old msn messenger and test the new version messenger 2011 means i want to install 2 different versions of messenger and run them at the same time
hw am i gona do that ??( in windows 7)

you aren't, Messenger 2009 needs a file 2011 replaces. I suggest you use a virtual machine, like Orcale's VirtualBox or Windows XP Mode if you're in Windows 7 Business or Ultimate.

Well if you don't have access to a separate computer, I would advise you to just delete WLM2009, install WLM2011 and try it out.

MsgPlus! v5 should be out soon for WLM2011 as well.

If you decide after a while you don't like it, you can easily downgrade back to WLM2009.

if only the chatloging feture works in messenger plus i would be ready to use wlm 11

so this means there isnt any easy way to install the old messenger and windows live messenger 11 in windows 7??
cant we do it by editing some registry files and sumtin like that??

You can't install them, but there is a "portable" 2009 version downloadable somewhere. [By the way, I didn't remember that by the time of my previous posts :zippy: Sorry for that]
