Plus! 5 isn't on WLM 2011 - Printable Version

I installed Plus! 5 in WLM 2011. It installed successfully, but It's not on my messenger
I have already read in http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=69388 .
Uninstall my messenger and i don't have msn messenger folder, reinstall plus! and messenger, but it still not work.
these are all my programs in my notebook.

chkontee, my very first thought after seeing your installed programs is to try to disable "ESET Smart Security" completely and reinstall Messenger Plus! and see if it works then.

Other than that I suppose it could be a number of things which are wrong....
(ranging from an incompatible program you have running to an actual Plus!-bug)

And in the past, problems have also arised between Plus! and programs tampering with your desktop and/or program windows. As such, I also would like to ask if you can disable/uninstall "Fences", and then reinstall Plus!, and see if the problem dissapears then...

But also, set your date of your computer correct. It is known that Messenger sometimes causes al kinds of problems if you're date isn't properly set.

Another thing which have caused troubles in the past in certain situations are NVIDEA driver packages. Try to uninstall the NVIDEA PhysX System Software.

I don't get your point. Neither did OP. Cookie was suggesting it as a possibility because AV software is usually the biggest culprit of stopping something from working. All it takes is for it to detect one of the changes in MP!5 as malicious and it'll will stop it from loading. Obviously though, that hasn't happened here so we can rule it out.

Still, give it a try. I've experienced problems with WLM from the time being set wrong. If it works, they obviously don't recognize Euddhist. To be honest though, they don't accept years based on the Mayan calendar for example so it's worth a shot to try it like everyone else sets their dates.

Also, I bet your PC constantly thinks it's the wrong day of the week...

The date has already correct, 2554 is B.E. = 2011+543 A.D.

Does your computer have an option to choose the B.E. calendar though?

I suspect not....so it will be understanding that date as being 2554, as in 543 years in the future, which could cause software to have issues.

Try setting it to 2011 and seeing if your issue is resolved.

Also, are you running Windows Live Messenger in compatibility mode?

Set time and currentcy format to Thai when install windows(With time zone UTC+7).It will change to B.E. calendar.

My PC settings is same notebook but PC can use MP! 5.

I try WLM to Windows Vista every Service Pack, still not work too.

PS. My friend use B.E. like me but he can use MP!5(WLM 2011).
PS2. I don't have any extra smiles.

Do not use Compatibility mode, untick that option and see if it works.

Sorry.. I live in Thailand, and the OP obviously has Thai Windows installed on his Computer....

2554 = 2011 in the Thai Calendar.

"Euddhist" is a Typo.. The OP meant Buddhist

Also, Thai computers don't always come with a properly licensed OS... many laptops (called notebooks here) are sold with DOS or a Pirated OS. It's quite possible the OS is a pirated copy and buggy.

I'm having the same problem on my netbook. An ASUS 1215N with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. In my PC works normally, but in netbook not. I am in Brazil, including formated netbook thinking it was some problem related. But it does not work, I install Messenger Plus! 5, but when you start WLM is not there, does not carry anything, not even in the options. Look at the installed programs and WLM 2011:

What id you download Plus! 5 again and simply install it a second time? Run the installer twice in a row if you have to. I know it sounds strange, but a few people reported that worked for them.

If that doesn't help... does Plus! 4.9 work on that system? That version may not show the Plus! icon because it isn't fully compatible with WLM 2011, but it should at least display 'Plus!' in the menubar.

I've done it twice in a row installed, uninstalled everything, WLM, Messenger Plus! 5, even formatted the netbook, but it does not work. In my PC works.

That right, I try everything. It doesn't work.

Maybe your netbook and my notebook driver(ex. touchpad) will malfunction the MP!5.(I don't sure) It's only thing that is different from my PC.

To release an update which solve the problem, the developers would need to know what exactly causes the problem. We can try to find this but we would need to know more details.

A virus scanner? If so, did you try to disable it during the installation?

Yes, it installed the latest version of the graphics driver
. Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and 4.0
DirectX 9 installed
Latest version of Flash. 10.2
No antivirus installed for now, newly formatted

DirectX? 11 and 9.0c(for some games)
Latest Flash installed? 10.1(10.2 will crash ie9)
