No, they do not. They do not store send/recieved messages on their servers.
However, they do keep track of the time/date when you last used their service (for various reasons).
In regards to where logs are stored:
If you have logging enabled in Messenger, the logs are stored on your own local disk. The path can be set in the preferences of Messenger.
Messenger does not have an online chat log storage capability. But the addon Messenger Plus! 5 does have the possibility to store the chat logs created by Messenger Plus! online (however, it must be said that this feature doesn't always work 100%).

So do they have any of our logs in their servers.
I need a chat log of 2008 which i kept in my local disk.
Now when i try to decrypt the file it comes and error with "an error occurred while trying to decrypt. please reboot or try with another PC"
It would be really great if i can get a copy of that chat log file.
