Where are custom scenes stored? by 0rpheus on 05-04-2011 at 07:05 PM

Hi

I'd like to know where the custom scenes are stored in my PC, I'm using 64-bit Windows 7.

I found one in C:\Users\My User Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\My Windows Live ID\ObjectStore\Scenes , but that is a low resolution image of that scene I'm looking for, if I copy that same image to some place else and set it as my scene the image is pixelated and blurry. So there must be another place where the high resolution picture is stored because that same scene I'm looking for is set as my current scene right now (I'd like to tweak it in Photoshop a little).

I tried making a new image to use as a scene, but it just won't turn out as good as the one I have right now, and I was dumb enough to delete the original image that I used as my custom scene.

So please, can anyone help me out here? I'd really appreciate it!

You're looking in the right directory, but at the wrong files. The PNGs you find there are used for the thumbnails in the scene selection dialog. You should open the .dt2 files with an image viewer ;)

Since Vista, Documents and Settings was renamed to Users, and Local Settings was moved to AppData\Local. How come you still have those folders? :P

Thank you Mike, I found the high res image I was looking for!!!

And about that "Documents and Settings" folder etc, you're right, I don't have those folders, I kinda messed up that part ;P I corrected the path now

Thanks again, I'm so relieved! :)

PS. Sorry for posting in the wrong section
