I've protected my Messenger Plus! from modifications by other users, like my children and my girlfriend, but now I have forgotten the password , can this be recoverd/reset or can it be made undone? If yes, so how?

It does not matter to me if I lose any data, according to messenger (or Plus!) but I would like to use Messenger Plus! and it's configuration options again.

Hopefully someone can help me or put me in the right direction to solve this problem.

Excuse me for using bad English, but I'm Dutch and I am not used to write in English, but The main thing is that my problem can be understood.
I've also placed this request on the Dutch msghelp forum, but I don't know where the most readers or helpers can be found.
