The results are in. The judges have chosen the winners for the 2011 skinning contest. And the winners are *drumroll*...

Design of a skin done in Photoshop/Illustrator.
  • The prize of a $500 gift card goes to InfiniteZ by Mike. InfiniteZ will be turned into an actual skin by the one and only Willz.

Hello everyone.

First of all I wanted to thank Messenger Plus! and Yuna software for this contest and for prizes.

Then I want to say a big congratulations to the winners and to all the participants as I
know the workload it represents.

it's silly that we have not been more likely to participate.

I think that'll be nice to see images of all participants drawing of skin, for this
an idea for our next skin.

The only thing is see similar is that they both went with a dark color scheme, asides from that everything else is different. DP borders, white text areas as opposed to pure black, the way shadows are used.

Plus from the sounds of it a white version may also be developed.

Well I wasnīt meant to sound suspicious or bothered about that, they use different levels of black/grey and of course also the details you mention about the shadows, so yeah like I said Iīm looking forward to it, even more if itīs in Willz hands :)

After creating mockups for a white version, I have shown a few friends, and they seem pretty excited, wanting to migrate to plus to use it.. So as long Willz is willing - I'm keen :)

You are welcome.  Prizes are being processed.  The winners came from countries all over the world which indicates that we are still a truly international community!

@Yuna: You guys should also coordinate to give prizes to most download and valuated skins by the users based on the new skins (also to scripts) websites... that would incentive designers (and developers) to keep creating things!

Fixed. It was re-added under a different URL because for some reason it wouldn't show up on /skins/ for a while now.

But after the voting system is revamped/re-evaluated because as it is now it is seriously flawed.
