I've recently bought a new laptop, it came with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1, all I did was update all the drivers to their latest versions, and install every windows recommended updates.
Right after that, I installed Windows Live Messenger 2011 (15.4.3508.1109), and soon after I downloaded and installed Plus! 5.02, but it didn't work, there was no Plus! icon on my messenger main screen, nor conversation windows... it's just not running.
While on my older laptop I used (and I still use) Plus! 5.01, same Windows version, same WLM version. I thought it might just be a problem with version 5.02, so I had a copy of the older 5.01 installer, and I did install it, but to no use, it still didn't work at all.
I've tried many times reinstalling, cleaning every vestige of earlier installs of WLM and Plus!, but it still did not solve anything.
It is a clean windows install, I have only the latest drivers and updates installed, and I don't have any application that could conflict with Plus! installed. Is there anything I'm missing, something that I should or shouldn't do?
Edit: It's just like what happened on this topic (http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=97559), which makes me believe it's some problems with nVidia drivers/Optimus, but the solution he described did not work for me.

Are you using the latest nVidia drivers? I seem to remember them causing a few problems...

Yeah, I'm using the latest nVidia driver version, 275.33.
If the driver is the real problem, I'll try updating to the latest beta see if it fixes...

Figured out I have this problem, upgraded to the beta and it still didn't work so I uninstalled my driver completely and it worked. Laptop automatically installs the driver though whenever I restart so gotta find one that works...

Yeah, the beta did not solve the problem.
Uninstalling the driver is out of the equation, since I use this laptop for gaming too.
I guess I'll have to wait for nVidia to release a better driver.

Note: besides upgrading drivers to the latest ones, it might also be worthwhile to downgrade drivers in this case.
