Hi,

My company uses Trend Micro's antivirus software ("Client/Server Security Agent") on our PCs. When I tried to download the latest version of Messenger Plus, Trend Micro blocks it because it thinks it is dangerous:

URL:     http://mirror10.msgpluslive.net/20110815/BCH/Setup-MsgPlus-503.exe
Rating:     Dangerous
Threat details: Verified fraudulent page or threat source.

I asked Trend Micro to reclassify but they still consider it to be a "Disease Vector." Just thought I would alert you in case you can do anything from your end.

(I have otherwise been able to install the latest version so I'm not waiting on a resolution.)

There isn't anything malicious about the sponsor application. It adds toolbars to your browser as a revenue generator.

Disable Trend Micro so you can download the software.

As I mentioned, I have already been able to download it so that's not a problem. I'm not concerned about whether it is malicious, as I've used MsgPlus for many years without problems.

Just thought I would post an FYI here for patchou in case other people run into the same problem.

Gotcha, just an FYI Patchou is no longer involved in anything related to Messenger Plus!. Here is his goodby thread: All good things…
