Unexpected Behaviour of Program since 5.10 (Win7) by KevinGelking on 10-15-2011 at 09:04 AM

Dear Community,
I've been using Plus! for a long time now, but have experienced some major problems since I updated to 5.10 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 , WLM2009.

Since I've updated to 5.10, the program starts up again even if I close it completely. Also I cannot Logoff/change status/close application via the Taskbar-Icon (Win7 functions), the mail-function via taskbar-icon does work, but takes like 10 minutes to open the mail-website (took 1 second before). Also there are about 7 "msnmsngr.exe" in my Taskmanager, and they keep popping up when I kill them there and use the programme a bit.

I Really need these bugs fixed as it's terribly annoying.
Things I've tried so far:
- reinstalled Plus! 5.10
- deleted Plus! 5.10 and Windows Live Messenger Essentials (all Live stuff)
- reinstalled WLM2009 and Plus! 5.10 after having deleted all leftover files from the folders

Unfortunately that didn't help :/
The previous Plus! version I used causes problems with chatlogs though (it didn't always save the chatlog, causing big parts of it being missing)

Thank you very much in advance, everyone, for your help.
Greetings,
Kevin Gelking

UPDATE:
The additional tasks always appear when I try to change anything via the Win7 Functions of the Taskbar Icon~
"Change Status -> Busy" = new msnmsngr.exe in taskmanager
same for logoff and Anything else.

Do you happen to have polygamy enabled?

No, polygamy is diabled :o
... for the chat-programme that is ;)

A new version will be released very soon that should fix this issue.

Will it be going through a beta testing stage prior to release?

i have the same issue since upgrading to Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.  i dont like that it does not put a icon in the toolbar next to the system clock like XP, i have noticed the task manager with the exe running in it as well annoying. i love this program with live messenger i really hope they fix it.

That does not have anything to do with Messenger Plus!.
It is how the taskbar of Windows 7 functions; it does not have a "system tray" anymore like XP had.

;)

Hence the italic print and the quotes in the post... the name is the same but the functionality is completely different.

I'd say Win7 still has it's System Tray, it just became home for "stuff you never need" - the important programmes are now "pinned" to the taskbar itself - and I must say I really love controlling MSN that way :) really handy~

... with my prior Plus! version it was, at least :D

Thanks to the person telling me that it's a bug in this release :) I hope the next will fix it <3 I even quit the buddyscouts since I refused to give up on Messenger Plus! :p
