Version 8.0.0 (for Mac) No Longer have Web Cam feature? (Jan. 2012) by Pingu on 01-08-2012 at 03:57 AM

I had to reinstall messenger yesterday as i was having trouble signing in. But after doing so, now it seems there no cam recognition on the messenger contact list. I can only chat and send files.:@ If Microsoft has gotten rid of this feature, when did this happen? Is there anywhere on the Microsoft site where they said this was going to happen? Does anyone know whats going on for sure? Thanks.

It's working normally here, the video chat icon shows up in both the conversation window and the contact pop-over

I'm using Microsoft Messenger 8.0.1

Well, it must be my version then. I don't have the web cam icon on the main contact list window even when I am signed in. However, its kind of funny actually, just yesterday when my BF came on, and messenger recognized that there was a contact available, when i opened up a chat window with him, then the cam icon showed up. I also saw that you can start a video call from the menu under contact. So I was worried for nothing. Yes feel a bit silly now :)
