Installed and now what? by Laszlo on 02-10-2012 at 06:38 PM

Skype is running.
Messenger Plus! is running, well, at least in the taskbar.

Now what?  :$

When I left click on the logo in the taskbar, nothing happens.

When I right click I see several options, none of which do anything, well except the quit quits.

What should I expect to see and what should I do?

Thanks.

You should receive a prompt from Skype asking you to enable the addon. You should see a Toolbar attached to the side of the contact list when it is opened.

Hi Laszlo,

Once you have installed Messenger Plus! for Skype and launched Skype, Skype will ask you to allow access to Messenger Plus! for Skype:

After granting Messenger Plus! for Skype the access, the toolbar will automatically appear next to your Skype contact list.

I hope this helps answer your question and also that you will now fully enjoy Messenger Plus! for Skype!

Huh sure, it wasn't meant as a challenge to your wisdom but more like a complement with some visual aids :P

Well, at least you agreed with each other....

"You should receive a prompt" is quite rightly written in the conditional form - because I don't. I have closed and opened Skype and restarted the PC to no avail.
Can I manually trigger the prompt?

Couldn't get it working, so I uninstalled.

Is it showing up in list of programs? You can grant access from there too if it is...

That would have been a possibility. Like an idiot, I did not think of it.
Now it's too late to check.

And I think I misunderstood the winks anyway. I thought it's like the funny faces you use when in video mode to mask your face. That function was abandoned during some update and I thought I could use this. But it looks as though this was something different.

It is never too late, you can always re-install ;)

I am experiencing a similar issue, I was not given any prompt to accept or deny access to Skype, but nor do I have the option to allow programs to skype from the advanced options menu. I have tried reinstalling, with and without my antivirus enabled to no avail. -I have the icon in my tray, but right clicking on it only nets greyed out options for me.

Any suggestions?

Skype 5.8.0.158

Using the helpful suggestion to look in the Tools--> Options --> Advanced --> Manage other programs' access
I now see the Plus! and that it is registered within Skype. But I can't access it.
Only when I am in a call it will sometimes pop up and ask if it should record.

BUT: even when it does pop up and does start recording, after a while the audio shifts and the audio is no longer synchronised. The longer the conversation, the longer the lag, so this is useless for me.
