Display "profile details" don't exists anymore by radiodj105 on 09-15-2012 at 07:49 AM

Hi there.
With the old Messenger Plus, I could right click on a contact, select "profile details" and type details or info in each contact.
Now, if I want to to that, I have to log on via web browser.

So, first I right click on a contact and select "Show profile".
Then I have to log on to my browser.

Do I do something wrong?

I know that instead of that, I can select...
Right click on a contact =>  Messenger Plus Features => Contact Information => Note.

But this is blank at the moment. It didin't transfer the details from my MSN profile.

Thanks for your time.

The "Contact Information" panel from Messenger Plus! has always been completely independant of the "Profile information" provided by Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live website.

So, those two things are completely different and have nothing todo with each other (althought the name is very similar and one might be confusing the two because of it).

The information in the panel provided by Messenger Plus! is also only stored locally on your own computer.

The information in the panel provided by Windows Live Messenger itself is stored online (in de Windows Live Profile of that contact).

So, nothing has changed in this regards.
You can still access both panels in the same way as you always could:

For the Contact Information panel of Messenger Plus!:
Right Click contact > Messenger Plus! Features > Contact Information

For the Profile Information panel of Windows Live Messenger:
Right Click contact > Edit Contact
(this is for WLM 2009. For WLM 2011 or 2012 this might be slithly different.)

No, you are wrong my friend.
Now, when I right click on a contact and then click on "Edit Contact", my browser opens. There, I have to log on and then I can edit the info.

As I said before, in the previous version, I could right click.
Then "Edit contact" and then I could edit everything on a new msn window.

NO BROWSER was opened!

I'm afraid I'm not wrong.

1) As I said this has nothing to do with Messenger Plus!. Those two panels are independant and the Profile Information panel is something from Windows Live Messenger itself, not from Messenger Plus!.

2) As I also said:

And that is with the latest version of Plus! (5.50.763). But even previous versions do exactly the same thing. Because this has got nothing to do with Messenger Plus!.

Well, on WLM 2009, it worked. And I can verify that!

Suddenly, one day, Windows Live, didn't allow me to log on.
When I try to log on, I get a message saying "you got to update".
So I update. I didn't have any other option.

Now, I am using WLM 2011 and the version is 15.4.3555.308
After that I update my Messenger plus, but the problem still remains.

Any idea for solving this problem?
