I want to get GTA IV.. but I don't have a PS3 or XBOX 360.. so it's decision time. Which one should I get? I also want the console of course, not just for the game .

Xbox 360 has better online multiplayer, so I hear (although it costs, but not much), whereas PS3 is free.

Xbox 360 is a lot cheaper, you can get the Premium console and GTA IV for £199.99 ($393 USD / $398 CAD) at Play.com which is a brilliant deal.

...Whereas PS3 is £300 ($590 USD / $598 CAD) on its own. I could get a second-hand one for cheaper I guess.

Also I have a PS2 and I've never played an xbox in my life .

Uhh I dunno. I can't decide.

Ask patchou, he might recommend you the 360

note some stuff:

- Xbox 360 gets hardware failures more than the PS3
- controller has great feel
- excellent online gameplay
- xbox support helps you replace your 360 within 2 weeks if it breaks down

id still go for 360 since it has better games

Xbox live silver isn't so bad. at least you can download demos (free too )

PS3... never tried it before but:

you can link your PSP to it and play your PSone games (although i'm sure you can find another way without ps3 )

PS3 is faster than 360 i think. so probably better fps and higher quality games (like heavenly sword, god of war 3, etc)

also PS3 has HDMI and a bigger hard drive (40 - 80 GB?), 360 (original) doesn't have the HDMI port and only comes with 20 GB.

the elite has a 120 GB and HDMI.

Get a PS3. I own both, the XBOX never gets played on, the only time i'm going to load that up is to play Saints Row 2. Also RROD, i suffered day one from it (no problems now though), the PS3 has given me no problems what so ever.
I will admit the 360 has more impressive games, but as a console it fails.

Wait for it to come out on PC?

in that case i think PS3. If your a fan of movies then the PS3 is the way to go because all the good movies are going to be coming out on Blu-Ray, also there are some cool games (some coming out soon) on PS3 such as God Of War 3. I also like the ability to use the control in a way like the Wii using the motion sensors. So my opinion would be PS3

Also if you can hold out i believe they are making a slimline PS3 which could be out soon...

get a PS3, unless you happen to not be an idiot. then, get an xbox 360.

PS3 : bluray player.

ps3 will run GTA IV better than the xbox360... also GT5
