i just got a gmail account (no invites yet) and wanted to know if i could use the email checker to tell me about mail i get if so how do i find out the server number

There is no way. GMail does not provide you with a POP access, so you can't use it in Plus, or Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.

What KeyStorm does not seem to know, however, is that there are programs you can use to make it look like a POP account to Messenger Plus!, so you can check it.

One of these programs is POP Goes the Gmail. You can find it at http://jaybe.org/info.htm, where quite a lot of information can be found, and there's also a forum for questions.

when i try to install it it says there was an error starting C/win/.net/1.1.something.dll

u need the .net framework from microsoft

you could use gtay. this is a program this will check your account every x(you chose) mins. and alert you if u have any mail.
