You can do that without Plus!, just click the little arrow next to "Offline"

goto contacts - sort contacts by - online/offline   then you can clik the arrow next to offline, i dont think you can hide offline contacts in groups

You can! Set grouping to groups by going to

Contacts >> Sort contacts by >> Groups

Then to group the offline people together go to

Contacts >> Sort contacts by >> Group offline contacts together!

Simple as anything!
