I was looking @ some old shit I found in my colset and came across a  1995 PC gaming magazine. For the hell of it, I skimmed through it and found an article about the PC of the new millenium. :

"Within the next 5 years, I believe we'll see computers surpass the 1 Ghz mark, and grow above and beyond the 2 and 3 Ghz marks not too long after that. After testing some of Intel's new technology, I am confident their upcomming Intel Pentium III Processors will be able to reach this goal. One of the top exectutives at Intel has even speculated seeing a Pentium 4 processor by 1998. With the ever advancing technology of today, I think it's fairly safe to say we'll have a Computer with a processor with the following specifications withing the next 3 or 4 years:
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.0 Ghz
512 mb ram
40 GB HDD
64 mb video card
and more!
With computers like that, who knows what kind of mouth-watering graphics we can expect in the near future!"

and another article's headline was
"Sony to rival Nintendo for the console market!
Specifications for these amazing consoles revealed!"

(I modified it a bit, the article was like 4 times as long as that and I was not about to re-type that much ...)

lol yeah i've had a magazine when pokemon gold and silver were leet, dead or alive 3 looked amazingly good (not out yet) and they were comparing halo to starship troopers on a beach...

oh yeah, the gamecube was announced as a ps2 killer

P3 reaching 2 or 3 GHZ, P4's out by 1998. lol crazy predictions about the future.

You have to admit though, they are quite good predictions given the constant changes in the technology and its industry...

I suppose iut was a pretty good estimate, but we'ren't those pc's in '98 very rare, or didn't they exist at all!! Thats hilarious....

I think that pokémon games pwn3d completely!! I have some old mags somewhere I think. Its funny how lame they are, I remember playing on Tekken 3 on a demo disc, it was amazingly lame ...

When you read it a lot of that article is true, and a good prediction for the time, just a few years out maybe...but well predicted pattern wise...

It didn't say anything about 4ghz processors...

I'm not a computer expert or anything, but whats the highest ghz you can get today?

with over clocking you could probably get to 4ghz.
In fact i saw an article about someone using liquid nitrogen to overclock a pc to 4ghz.
And super computers are probably in the terrahertz

Na, not that high. Maybe 50-100 Ghz TOPS
