O.P. Option to hide chat windows in taskbar (and other suggestion)
Basically I'd like to be able to hide the chat windows from the task bar.
When getting a message, instead of having the taskbar item and window blink, you could see the desktop contact and/or the nick in the contact list blink.

Secondly, I'd like to remove the "search the web" option gone as it just wastes my precious desktop space...

I don't think I need to mention much about the MSN7 ads, so I'll stop here and now about them.

Go to Plus> Preferences > Privacy Protection and set your own shortcut and for A-Patch

http://www.apatch.tk/

Please note that patching your MSN is illegal.

There are various patches that can remove all sorts of stuff e.g. A-Patch, Mess Patch etc.
However, using these violates the EULA you agreed to when installing Messenger.

As for the taskbar thing, I'm not too sure how easy it would be to make the desktop contacts/contact list entries flash.

Edit: Bah, two people beat me...

What I really mean is basically I want to make the taskbar and windows NOT blink as not to draw attention to them. I don't want to hide the windows themselves though I would like to hide them from the taskbar (but not from the desktop).

In regards to programming it wouldn't take much to make the desktop contacts blink, albeit this is not a necessary feature (imo).

A partial solution I suddenly remembered is Tweak UI, in General -> Focus select and put the "flash" back to 1 instead of 3... But it still leaves the application highlighted which I don't want, and it still flashes once too many times. Setting it to 0 leaves it flashing, and obviously I don't want the app popping up over other apps).
