O.P. Can't delete a normal file
After I fixed my pc Windows moved my files to one User Folder, this was ok.

I transfered all my files back to my old User Folder and it was ok except one file wouldn't transfer. I later found out that I couldn't do anything with it.

So now i'm trying to get rid of it by deleting it and I get the same (well nearly the same) message:

"Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I have searched google and found out the supposedly you have to exit windows and use Command Prompt to delete the file, but this wouldn't work either. So can any one help? Maybe suggest a program that will do it for me, or help me get rid of it via the registry.

P.S. The file is a normal .rep used in Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour.

RE: Can't delete a normal file
I have an app called the unlocker which you can use to stop any file which is using that file/folder using that file/folder that you want to rename/delete.

Its realy handy when for random reasons windows is doing something to a file/ folder .....  you can boot your pc and immediately try to delete it or get that software (its free and easily available. google the unlocker or something)
Trust me .... it owns ;)

well if you exited windows and used command prompt which isn't in windows then how would a windows tool have any effect on it when the tool is designed to fix a windows problem? =p
