O.P. Formatting Computer With Partition
im going to format my pc, but the hard drive has got two partitions, will it format both drives and make them one?

i remeber formating my computer from the bootable windows disk, does inserting the windows disc when windows has loaded and using the installer also format the hard disk or does it just install windows?

thank you :D:D

if you boot up off the XP disc before oyu load XP it is easier, and that way you can delete the partition that you no longer want/need and then format the drive.
or, if you do want the partition to stay, then just don't delete it and format the other partition.

As DJKAL said, I suggest you pop in your Windows XP disc into your tray restart your PC and manage your partitions via the disc's formatter.

It is not hard, it is relativley simple...it doesn't take that long either. :)

when you are reformatting it does give you the option step by step clearly as you go through the deletion of partitions or adding of partitions section at the beginning of the reformatt
it is relatively simple

Setup will show you the existing partitions and ask you where you want Windows to go.

You can format both the partitions individually from inside Windows Setup. Just follow the instructions. It's straightforward and painless.

You can also delete them both and make just one new one if you wanted.
