O.P. WLM / Hotmail / Windows Update Problems
Hi,

I'v got a problem with a few things:
- Windows Live Messenger doesn't login (errorcode 80048820, Other Errorcode 80048439)
- Hotmail website gives error after logging in (HTTP-error 408 / 409 - Not Accepted / Source conflict Internet Explorer)
- Hotmail accounts in Outlook (Can't connect)
- Windows Update site after searching for updates (Not able to find with: [Error code: 0x80072EE2])

These errors just arrived one day to another.. :S Also they are only on my computer. Friends have no problems and even in my own house LAN network are no problems on the other computers. So I guess the problem it has to be on my computer...

Note: Webmessenger and Windows Messenger DO work

The things I can think of now that I tried to solve it are:
- A lot of Google Help
- Register cleaners
- Virus scanners
- Spy/adware cleaners
- Evidence Eliminator
- Empty cache-
- Restore Point from Windows
- IE and WLM Re-Install
- XP service pack 2 Re-Install
- IE configurations
- Router Configurations-
- Reset router and modem

Off course I restarted a lot between all these processes but they all didn't solve the problem at all.

I feel like I tried everything. I'v been trying and trying all these things over the last 2 days but nothing works..

Hope someone here can help me out!

Thanks in Advance..
Twan

hm..this is odd.

Just some questions:
What version of WLM r u using? Has it been patched (just thinking about the WLM problem atm)?

Can u reproduce the Hotmail ogin problem in any other browsers?

Have you made any changes to your system around the time you started getting these problems (installing, uninstalling o something like that)?

Zahid™: Please oculd you edit you post to have the links look something like this

Coz currently, they're stretching the page out horizontally way too much. Thanks;)

I'm Using WLM 8.0.0812.00 with MPL 4.01.0.240 and a A-Patch.
But I did re-install without patches and stuff but still not working.

The hotmail problem is the same in Firefox.. And the most crappy part is that even my Ouotlook can't connect anymore. So I have to login to an other computer to Read mail..

And yes the only thins I did install Direct X and Media Player 10 Reinstall. But I use restore point from Windows to undo that but still nothing did change..

All these problems came togheter. I personaly don't understand sinds I did everything in different problem solvers and my computer was never really cleaner than these days. But the problem hasn't solved :(

Few!! It's solved. It seemed that I had to something with the MTU settings. Never heard of that.. But it worked.

If someone ever gets this problem. Do the following:

Go to http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp
Download the Newest DrTCP .exe file.

Run it on your computer.
Put "Path MTU Discovery" on "NO".
Click on Save.
Click on Exit.
Reset the computer and the problem is away!

Everything is fine again now. Thnx anyway! :)
Back Again.
