O.P. Virtual Memory
OK, I have an old computer that the mother board will only take 32mb of RAM. I have Windows 98 SE installed but I can put in ME if I wanted.

Now what I need is a program that will use hard drive space to addon to the memory. So it will take a part of the hard drive and use it for memory.

I know theres such programs but I'm not sure what to search for. Can any one help me out here?

Keep 98, please, do not install ME.

2000 Minimum Requirements
Computer/Processor     133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU
Memory     64 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves responsiveness
Hard Disk     2GB hard disk with a minimum of 650MB of free space

You would be better off getting Win98SE on that box

Windows 98

PC with a 486DX 66 megahertz (MHz) or faster processor
16 megabytes (MB) of memory (24 MB recommended)
140MB to 355MB megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space

I think your right about the page file Supersonicdarky, I had forgot about that since im use to XP now and forgot about older OS's. I'll check that out.

RE: Virtual Memory
then just get another 32mb or if 1 slot, get a 64mb ram chip (should be really cheap) and install win2k

i ran win2k in a virtual machine with 64 megs of ram (but same cpu as real pc (1.6ghz)) and it ran faster than xp. so no need to worry about speed. or if you want you can over clock a tiny bit :P

That doesn't mean you will have 2gb. You harddisk space will only be used when you ran out of memory.
