Well that's it.

Is there a way to create a script that helps me stop someone from flooding me
.

Now people found that sending messages with max characters couple of times will crash your msn.

Anyone could write a simple script that prevents that from happening?
I would be very appreciated

There's one script that blocks the person that starts to flood, but thats about it. Let me find the link and I'll edit this post

Edit: I cant seem to find it :dodgy:. Let me look some more :undecided:

Edit2: I was trying to find the script Dazzy posted below. But I kept searching anti-flood instead of anti-spam. (Y)

Thanks. I hope that works.

The problem with this kind of flood is that msn freezes even before the flood shows up on the conversation window. I dont even see the text comming. So i'll have to try that script. Hope you find it :)

EDIT: Thanks q25 for your efforts and to dazzy. Will try it out

EDIT 2: did not work. Because this only lets you configure maximum messages in X seconds..

There should be an option of maximum characters in x seconds.. :(

jajajaja if that would exist lotssssssssssss of things could be done... just imagine the fun things you can do... maybe this can actually make the spam problem bigger... jajajaja... sending autoresponses each time you get "flooded"...

Note: I know this is from january but I was looking for anti-flood in the forum searcher to help somebody and I wanted to answer this...

I don't think it would be possible to stop a certain number of characters because messenger has to first receive the whole message to trigger the message received event. The script above blocks them after a couple of messages in x seconds because by the time the script can block the user, you would alreadt have received the message, whether it was displayed or not. Thats why it would be no good to just replace a message with max. characters with an empty string or a warning message, because you would still have to receive the message they sent in the first place. Also, what if thwere was a legitimate reason for them sending a message with max. characters? How would you be able to distinguish it?

yes it does and it does work but sometimes even when you don't want it to you get a message saying the person is trying to flood you when they actually weren't

Careful don't summon the fail whale.
