O.P. Numbered messages to counter packet loss
Hi there.

Like a lot of people, i am also experiencing lost messages while chatting with MSN.

I know Messenger Plus cannot do anything about that, so i'm instead trying to find not a solution -- but a way to at least recognize the problem when it happens.

I think a simple numbered message system would be great.
You just add a sequential number before each message so that if your message gets lost, your partner can see the gap in the numbers.

The question is, has anyone made such a script? I think it would be well within the possibilities of Messenger Plus scripting.

If a script like this does not exist, and anyone would be willing to do it, i can also pay a small sum as an incentive.

It would also be great to add more functionality -- like NIMS (http://yootles.com/nims/) so that the actual numbers are hidden or shaded and you get an alert when you receive a message that has a difference greater than 1 since the last received message.

Adding a number to the message is possible however in order for it to be removed (not displayed) both recipients would need the script.

Yes of course :) I believe that hiding the number would be nicer (if only harder to test the program with), but also makes for a more complex script i suppose
