O.P. [Release] rss2psm Nutz (Reads RSS/ATOM feeds into the PSM)
An incredibly simple lil script which takes the first item from an ATOM or RSS feed and puts the info into the PSM area in a customisable format.

Original inspiration comes from ( -dt- )'s own Rssreader script which I tried first (Thanks! BTW!), but the PSM option wasn't working for me. Which was all I really wanted to use it for. :$

Since it's the only script that shows up when "rss" is searched in the Scripts Database, and since the forum doesn't allow 3 letter searches... (rss? psm? doh!) I've no idea if this has been made before... 8-) :p

But anyways, I've made my own one now, and it seems to do what I want ok...: Automagically stick the link and title of my latest blog entry into my psm. Coz I'm narcissistic like that. (H)

Not many functions... actually, it just has the one function. So should be pretty self-explanatory.

Feel free to try it out and lemme know what you think... comments, bugs, money, praise, glory, mockings, all are welcome.
Cheers!

Very nice done. It's working perfectly. :)

Soo... now that this is working I would like to have a wish :D

Since many of my other users on the net found the RSS information from a News site very useful I would like to put in some more RSS information.

Use to put out CNN or BBC news here. I would like to have 5 or even more sites there. Mostly local news at the same time.

In the end this could even save life's when something happens, for example a Fire, a train crashing with chemicals, nuclear waste, Shooting on a school (!!!) Weather warnings or what ever.

Think about it.
It is a very fine script that you've done! :D
It is a very good source for Information for many people out there!

Keep It Up!

Good suggestion. But if you can't wait any longer, use the amazing -dt-'s Rssreader.

Already tried that script.

However, I never made it to work by sending it as an automatic PSM.
See the first message on this page:

But thanks for the suggestion.

Hmm... Next time I find myself in the middle of another weekend with no plans, I'll see about adding the option to get more feeds in there. :)

I can't get the config window to open. What do I have to do?

Sorry for replying a few years too late...

If you haven't already figured it out, there should be a Plus "Scripts" button in your main contacts list window, next to the "Add Contacts" button, click that and a list of your installed scripts should popup.

Choose "rss2psm Nutz", and then click "Settings"

The window should then popup.

Hi. I know this thread is too old, but maybe the script creator is around here. Feeds from Blogspot aren't working in the script. Could you fix it?
