my dad used to use his laptop for free broadband off one of our neighbours before we got broadband!  and yes its secure he know a good bit abbout shizzle related to technology so we're k. |

Hmm... I should get an accesspoint, home alone for a week soon, a little more flexibility would be nice then .
I gave away my last accesspoint, because most of the time i dont use my laptop at home... but when i actually have to make my own food downstairs...  |

Have any of you ever set up a wireless network? It's the most annoying thing you can do. The instructions are ridiculously unclear, and I've used three different routers .
No wonder my neighbours don't put passwords on, they are just happy they got it working. |

well that really does depend on the router some off them are really easy... and some off them don't make any sense at all... |

Maybe it's you being a newbie .... took less than a min with my belkin or with this stolen 2wire....

Don't read instructions then . I've set up my Linksys when i still had it, setting up WPA + MAC Filtering + Disabling SSID was pretty easy without instructions.
I did have problems on 1 or 2 APs from other people that were from some unkown cheap brand and have crappy web interface. |
